My Story
Hi, I’m Moon! I’ve been a photographer for twenty years and a wedding photographer for more than half that time. My background in fine-art photography and film gives my work an elegant, cinematic feel. When you look through your album, I want you to relive your day moment by moment. Every couple has a story, and your wedding album should reflect that.
Beyond weddings, I’m also a landscape photographer and have had my work displayed in local galleries. I feel very lucky to live in Colorado with its incredible diversity of landscapes. Some of my favorite places to shoot include Rocky Mountain National Park, the Great Sand Dunes, and my hometown of Crested Butte.
When I’m not shooting, I love reading, writing, video games and traveling. I’m a self-described nerd who loves Lord of the Rings enough to name my dog Bombadil. I live in Fort Collins with my wife and son who–at four years old–is also an avid photographer. His favorite subjects include flowers, wooden trains, and his own feet.
My Approach
I use a documentary-style approach to make getting your perfect photographs a relaxed and effortless experience. You get to be fully present on your day while I capture the epic moments and intimate details that tell your story. One of my favorite parts of being a wedding photographer is getting to know each couple before the wedding and learning what makes them unique. It’s an honor and a joy to reflect that uniqueness in photos.
The heart of my approach, however, is you. Do you have a special photo that you and your bridesmaids have been recreating since middle school? We can incorporate that. Have you never had professional photos taken in your life and don’t know what to do with your hands? I can walk you through that. Just want me to melt into the background and capture the moment as it unfolds. I can do that too. I keep the atmosphere relaxed and flexible, removing the stress that many people feel when being photographed. You enjoy the day, and I’ll make sure you can enjoy it over and over for years to come.
